Hello
I’ve dedicated my career to understanding how violence affects individuals and organisations, and to shaping responses that keep safety, dignity, and real change at the centre. I’ve walked alongside people who didn’t yet recognise their experiences as violence, as well as those for whom the harm was undeniable. What drives me is seeing people reclaim direction in their lives, and supporting organisations to strengthen their structures and practices so they can offer safer, more responsive services.
My Story
I am a registered clinical counsellor with over 18 years’ experience, specialising in the treatment of people who have experienced many forms of violence, abuse, and trauma. I hold a Bachelor and Master of Applied Social Science majoring in Counselling from the Australian College of Applied Psychology, and have completed Post Grad study in Traumatic Stress, grounding my work in contemporary, evidence-based trauma practice. I am certified across many modalities of therapy so that I can tailor my approach to meet the style, preference and needs of each individual. I combine this with my lived experience across varying type of violence and my own therapeutic healing journey. I value reflective practice as a quality assurance tool therefore I engage with regular supervision and my own counselling.
Alongside 18 years in private practice, I have held senior clinical and strategic roles across national services, including 1800RESPECT, the Leaving Violence Program, and as Head of Telehealth Services at Blue Knot Foundation. This means I bring both grounded frontline experience and system-level insight into what truly supports safety, recovery, and long-term change.
I am passionate about working with people of all genders, cultures, identities, and intersections of life. Wherever I have worked, my focus has been twofold: to be attuned, person-centred by listening and connecting with what is happening across the many layers of a person’s experience, and to drive change that improves service delivery for people who are often overlooked, including woman, men, people with disability, First Nations peoples, LGBTQIA+ communities, and older people.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and person-centred. I work in a trauma-informed/specific, culturally safe, and affirming way, and I am committed to accessible care for people from all communities. Together, we will move at your pace, however at times I will challenge you. I draw on evidence-based strategies, and regularly reflect on what is and isn’t working, so your counselling is always tailored to your needs, values, and goals.
